Let’s face it there is a lot that goes into planning a Walt Disney World vacation from the reservation itself, to making your dining reservations and Fastpass+ selections even to what you should pack. By having a check list of all the key points to your Walt Disney World vacation it will help with keeping track of every stage of your vacation. Did you know we have exclusive access to 3 and 4 bedroom condo accomodations near Disney World at a fraction of the prices?  Let’s summarize this check list and then dive a little deeper into each step:

  1. Finalize your Walt Disney World vacation dates, what type of Disney tickets you want and if you are staying at a Walt Disney property, which dining plan do you want
  2. Make your Disney resort package/or other accommodations reservations with us
  3. Set up and link your Walt Disney World vacation or tickets to your My Disney Experience account
  4. Make your Disney restaurant dining reservations (up to 180 days prior to travel)
  5. Start planning and booking for any additional tours, activities or extras (up to 180 days prior to travel)
  6. Customize your Magic Bands (must be customized by the date listed on you’re my Disney Experience account)
  7. Make your Fastpass+ selections (For Disney resort guests: 60 days prior to travel and for guests staying off Disney property then 30 days prior to travel)
  8. Arrange for Disney’s Magical Express or other roundtrip airport transportation (at least 45 days prior to travel)
  9. Start packing and double check your check list
  10. LET THE VACATION BEGIN!

  1. So the first step to almost any vacation whether it is to Walt Disney World or not is to settle on your vacation dates and the overall basics of the vacation. Planning a vacation to Walt Disney World is no different and there are the basic 3 components to your Disney World vacation package. First, start thinking about where you want to stay whether it is at a Disney resort or other accommodations off Disney property. Second, think about how many days you want to spend at the Disney theme parks, remember there are 4 of them currently and what type of tickets and/or options you want. Finally, if you are wanting to stay at a Walt Disney World resort decide if your family would like to purchase one of Disney’s dining plans (I recommend them and they can save you up to 20% of your food during your vacation).
  2. Call your Condo Agent and/or Sky Travel Agent at 1-800-477-6331 and make your Disney resort reservation or other accommodation reservation.
  3. If you booked a Walt Disney World resort package you can go online to www.mydisneyexperience.com and create a free My Disney Experience account using just your contact information. Once you have created an account you can simply link your Disney resort reservation to your account. If you are staying off Disney property then you will still need to create a My Disney Experience account but you will only need to link your Disney World tickets to the account (I recommend purchasing and having your Disney tickets linked at least 30 days prior to your vacation)
  4. Start making your Disney restaurant dining reservations. You can start making your dining reservations as early as 180 days prior to travel. I recommend making these reservations as soon as possible because many restaurant locations book up fast and some even on the 180th day out. You can check out Disney restaurants, their menus, locations, dining times and whether or not they accept the dining plans at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/#/reservations-accepted. You can book your Disney dining reservations through your My Disney Experience account or by calling Disney dining at 407-939-3463.
  5. Now that you have your basic components of your Disney World vacation booked and confirmed you can move onto the smaller details of the vacation like tours, other activities or extras. For instance if you are traveling with a little girl and you want her to experience the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique where she can get dressed up from head to toe as her favorite Disney princess or take a behind the scenes tour of the Disney parks or even take a boat ride in Disney’s Bay Lake. You can check out all the possibilities on www.waltdisneyworld.com
  6. If you are staying at a Disney World resort and with your reservation linked to your My Disney Experience account you can customize your Magic Bands. Currently there are 7 different colors to choose from: red, blue, yellow, orange, green, pink and gray. You can also personalize them by adding each person’s name to them. Please take notice of the deadline Disney provides you to customize your Magic Bands because once your Magic Bands have been ordered you cannot go and back and change them.
  7. If you are a Disney resort guest starting 60 days prior to your travel you can start booking your Fastpass+ selections. If you are staying off Disney property you can begin booking your Fastpass+ selections at 30 days prior to travel but your Disney tickets have to be linked to you’re My Disney Experience account or you cannot make any Fastpass+ selections. Please keep in mind the current restrictions on the Fastpass+ is 3 per person in 1 park per day.
  8. If you are arriving by plane to Orlando International Airport and staying at a Disney World resort then included in your Disney benefits is the Disney Magical Express which is complimentary roundtrip airport shuttle to and from your Disney resort. Simply register everyone in your party at www.disneymagicalexpress.com. A booklet will be mailed to your home about 30 days prior to travel with your luggage tags and Disney Welcome Center information. If you are staying at a resort or other accommodations outside of Disney there are many shuttle services to choose from, MEARS shuttle service is a popular one and they can assist you with airport transportation. You can get current pricing and make reservations by calling Mears at 855-463-2776. Or if you are looking to rent a car make sure you have your car rental reservation made.
  9. Now you are ready to start packing for your vacation! Check the current weather in Orlando, FL so you will have a better gauge on whether to pack tank tops and shorts or long pants and a sweatshirt. Remember DO NOT pack your Magic Bands in your check in luggage instead keep them with you either on your wrist or in a carryon luggage. It also doesn’t hurt to recheck your checklist to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything or book a reservation.
  10. Now that you have done all the planning ahead of time and your bags are packed, let the vacation begin!
